Background

The "species designations" collation has been built largely from the same components used for the Species of Conservation Concern listing produced as a part of the Biodiversity Action Plan process in 1999-2000. It has however been substantially updated to incorporate.
  • Newly published status lists
  • accepted revisions to a status list
  • changes to legislative lists and annexes.

This collation should NOT however be referred to as the SoCC list because this is likely to cause confusion with the published SoCC list and any future revisions of this list published as part of the BAP priority species review process.
