The UK government has recently announced that UK organisations can continue to bid for EU LIFE funding in the 2020 Call, even if the Call’s timetable stretches into 2021 and beyond the transition period. This means that you may be eligible for 55% (in specific cases up to 75%) co-financing of your projects.
The EU LIFE Programme co-funds environment, climate and governance and information projects. The average LIFE project has a budget of €3–5 million and runs for 3–5 years.
The 2020 LIFE Call is expected to be launched on 2 April 2020. The anticipated deadlines are June for concept notes for environment projects, and September for the full application for climate projects.
Throughout the 2020 Call, JNCC, as the National Contact Point (NCP), will offer support to anyone interested in applying for LIFE funding. We provide advice on all aspects of the EU LIFE Programme, to help potential applicants prepare their applications in order to maximise their chances of obtaining funding. In particular we will run webinars, and provide a pre-screening service for draft applications and an enquiry hotline during office hours.
