A woodland survey handbook 1988

Abstract

This handbook provides an introduction to woodland survey for nature conservation, concentrating on the methods used to provide a broad assessment of the wildlife interest of a wood.. It summarises much of the experience gained from surveys carried out by the Nature Conservancy Council and Nature Conservation Trusts over the last ten years. The main emphasis is on field surveys using vascular plant records to give a preliminary assessment of a wood's nature conservation value. Other types of survey, from broadscale desk studies to detailed examination of epiphytic lichen communities, are also discussed.

Please note that this resource has been produced from a scan of an original document. You may therefore experience fluctuations in quality.
