OCPP Vanuatu: DEPC Data Management System Development User Requirements Report and Findings Summary 2023

Abstract

Available here are two resources: 'DEPC Data Management System Development: User Requirements Report' and 'DEPC Data Management System Summary Findings'. These resources summarise the user research findings used to inform the development of a comprehensive data management system for the Vanuatu Department of Environmental Protection and Conservation (DEPC). Under the Ocean Country Partnership Programme, JNCC partnered with the DEPC to provide technical assistance to biodiversity management functions within the department. DEPC identified the need for improved data management processes to support evidence-based decision making related to environmental protection and management in Vanuatu. JNCC conducted interviews with all key stakeholders during the user research process to define priority functions for a data management system development, aiming to enhance data accessibility and effective management in the department. The user research findings outlined in these reports were used to direct the development of the internal DEPC data management system, launched in early 2026.

These resources were produced by JNCC, under the Ocean Country Partnership Programme.
