OCPP: WIO Region Supporting Mozambique, Madagascar and Maldives participation in WIOMSA training and networking events 2025

Abstract

The work in this project focused on supporting Mozambique and Madagascar in targeted professional development initiatives. These include participation in WIOMPAN’s regional training workshops, exchanges, and the WIO-COMPAS certification programme.

The initiative equipped practitioners with the competencies, networks, and recognition needed to manage marine areas effectively, the project contributes directly to building resilient and inclusive conservation systems in two of the region’s most economically vulnerable countries.
