Dr Elly Hill - Director of Marine Monitoring & Evidence

The main responsibilities of the post are to:

 

• Support the development of JNCC's strategy and promote JNCC externally at senior levels to identify and develop opportunities where JNCC can provide support.
  
  
• Provide strategic advice to the Chief Executive and Joint Committee and lead internal governance groups.
  
  
• Oversee and direct JNCC’s marine monitoring, analysis and reporting functions, including:
  
  
  • • Monitoring and mapping the marine environment to provide evidence on marine species and habitats, which is essential for underpinning decisions on management and use of the offshore environment.
      
      
    • Provision of evidence on the establishment and conservation of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in offshore waters.
      
      
    • Development of evidence on the benefits derived from healthy marine ecosystems.
