Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) and Special Protection Areas (SPA): site condition, citations and conservation objectives
The UK’s statutory nature conservation bodies (SNCBs) are responsible for setting conservation objectives and assessing condition of the habitats and species features of Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) and Special Protection Areas (SPAs). This is carried out through Common Standards Monitoring.
For terrestrial and inshore waters SACs and SPAs, the four Country Nature Conservation Bodies (CNCBs) carry this monitoring out and the information is hosted on their respective websites. JNCC is responsible for monitoring offshore SACs and SPAs.
