This statistic reports population trends for breeding bird species in the UK, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, based on data collected by the Breeding Bird Survey (BBS).

Produced by JNCC in partnership with BirdWatch Ireland, British Trust for Ornithology, UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, Natural Resources Wales (formerly Countryside Council for Wales), Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture (Isle of Man), Department of Communications, Climate Action & Environment (Republic of Ireland), Manx Birdlife, Manx National Heritage, Natural England, Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (Northern Ireland), Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, NatureScot (formerly Scottish Natural Heritage), Scottish Wildlife Trust, Shetland Oil Terminal Environmental Advisory Group, States of Guernsey Government, the National Trust, the National Trust for Scotland, the Seabird Group.
Official Statistics reports were not produced in 2017 and 2018 due to resources being focussed on a national seabird census.
The release happened in two parts in 2021. On 29 April 2021 the Table of Results was updated; full species accounts were published on 20 May 2021.
