JNCC Official Statistics – List and release dates

In accordance with the regulations of the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007, and the resultant Code of Practice for Statistics, as a producer body of Official Statistics JNCC is required to maintain a list of the Official Statistics produced, their availability, and production timetables. The following products have been identified as Official Statistics:

Produced by JNCC collating data from Natural England, Natural Resources Wales (formally Countryside Council for Wales), Scottish Natural Heritage, and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency.  Released as indicator C1 within the UK Biodiversity Indicators.

UK Biodiversity Indicators

This release and publication reports on the UK's progress towards meeting the international biodiversity goals and targets known as the 'Aichi targets' agreed in 2010 and set out in the Convention on Biological Diversity's Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020.

Produced by JNCC in partnership with BirdWatch Ireland, British Trust for Ornithology, Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, Natural Resources Wales (formally Countryside Council for Wales - CCW), Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture (Isle of Man), Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government (Republic of Ireland), Manx Birdlife, Manx National Heritage, Natural England, Northern Ireland Environment Agency, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, Scottish Natural Heritage, Scottish Wildlife Trust, Shetland Oil Terminal Environmental Advisory Group, States of Guernsey Government, the National Trust, the National Trust for Scotland, the Seabird Group.

Data for the Seabird Monitoring Programme are still being collected but the Official Statistics report will not be produced in 2017 and 2018 due to focusing resources on a national seabird census.

Produced in partnership with British Trust for Ornithology, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds and the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (the latter on behalf of the Council for Nature Conservation and the Countryside, Natural Resources Wales (formally Countryside Council for Wales), Natural England and Scottish Natural Heritage) in association with the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust.

Wild bird populations in the UK – composite trends for UK biodiversity indicator

These statistics contribute to the UK Biodiversity suite of indicators.
